SENIOR FREELANCE WRITER AND EDITOR

My freelance career in writing and editing started in April 2018. A few publications I have worked for include the Saudi-based newspaper Arab News, the London-based newspaper The Arab Weekly, Gulf News in Dubai and SilverKris Magazine in Singapore. I have also published a white paper on cyber security in Saudi Arabia.

SENIOR JOURNALIST AND EDITOR

As a senior journalist for the Abu Dhabi-based newspaper, The National - one of the leading English-speaking newspapers in the Middle East - I covered an array of topics, including diplomacy, security, defence and nuclear energy in the UAE and abroad. A few international trips I reported on include the Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague, the Ministerial Meeting on the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative in Hiroshima, Japan, the Demilitarised Zone in Korea, the Fukushima area in Japan, and several conferences and training at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria, and Moscow, Russia.

JOURNALIST AND COPY-EDITOR

I published a few articles with the Financial Times in London and the Kuwait Times. After gaining valuable work experience at CNN in London, I wrote several articles for The Daily Star newspaper in Beirut, Lebanon, and pursued a copy-editing career at the online news portal NOW LEBANON. I also worked as a proofreader for a French magazine in Beirut, before moving to the United Arab Emirates.

EDUCATION

I studied a BA in Journalism at the London College of Communication, followed by a Master's degree in International Relations at Regent's College and a Master's in Near and Middle Eastern Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London.

LANGUAGES

I am fluent in English (written and spoken), French (written and spoken) and speak Arabic (fluent in conversation and basic in written) and German (basic conversational and written).
